Useful Tips for the perfect party

Great consideration must be given to the birthday child, and their age group

For Toddler age groups, a party is more of a gathering of friends and families with children of the same age. A good age to introduce a more traditional party is when they start attending nursery or primary school - 3 to 4 years.

Children of junior school age, 8 plus, are often looking for something different. The possibilities are endless! We have lots of ideas that we can share with you. Speak with us at 101 Events.

Creating the right atmosphere for a party is a must. Decoration and creating a theme can make all the difference, whilst not breaking the bank.

Entertainers can help ease the responsibility of controlling the kids at a party.
If hiring one, have a good chat with them first. Find out what space they need and what they are planning to do. If organizing activities yourself, then once again allow yourself plenty of room.

If adults are sticking around at the party, a separate area should be set aside for them, unless of course they are there to help you. Adults enjoyment has been known to take over and we must remember just who the party is for!

We suggest that you start looking for a venue if you are considering inviting more than 10 children into your living room. A list of venues are available from 101 Events.

For spring or summer birthdays you may wish to hold your parties in the garden. British weather is notoriously unpredictable, so plan carefully to allow for some covered area.

For outdoor parties you may wish to hire a bouncy castle or organise an activity such as 'It's a knockout'. For help, please talk to us at 101 Events.

Keep the food simple. If you don't want to face up to the task of catering, then don't feel guilty about ordering in a pizza or happy meal - Kids love them!
Also, remember those children who may not eat certain foods. Carrot sticks, sliced apples and grapes are a good alternative and provide a healthy balance.

If you are not serving the birthday cake at the party it is a good idea to wrap it separately from the party bag so it doesn't arrive home squashed and get forgotten.
